New residential developments along the I-15 corridor south of downtown are creating demand for grooming services in areas with few established salons. The outdoor culture means dogs frequently need post-adventure baths and coat maintenance. Winter months bring a spike in demand for de-matting and paw care as dogs trek through salt and snow.
How to Earn More as a Groomer in Salt Lake City
Capitalize on Utah's outdoor culture by offering post-hike bath packages and paw pad conditioning treatments. The suburbs south of SLC (Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove) are booming with young families and underserved by groomers. Build relationships with local pet supply stores like Petworld and Wasatch Pet Supply for referral traffic. Winter grooming for snow dogs is a reliable seasonal revenue boost.
